Welcome Fedi Friends to episode 21 of Fireside Fedi! I’m your host ozoned. Fireside Fedi is a show about folks within the Fediverse. If you’re seeing this, you are a part of the Fediverse.
With me today is Osa Atoe! Osa makes absolutely stunning midcentury nigerian pottery. I’m a bit outside of my expertise as I know absolutely nothing about pottery or art in any way, but I think her work is gorgeous and I’m honored to have her on the show. She’s also been in a punk band, she was a columnist for “Maximum Rock’n’Roll” magazine and she has a degree sociology.
“Osa’s … work represents her belief that applying combinations of indigenous wisdom and global technologies can create futuristic solutions, restoring balance and healing our social and environmental ills. Atoe’s pottery manifests as symbols of idealism, and provides a visual and tactile respite from violence, division, cynicism and injustice.”
